Senior Controls Engineer responsible for guiding the creation, installation and support for advanced manufacturing solutions and infrastructure. Improve organizational performance and production velocity though the application of original thinking to existing and emerging technologies and processes. Responsibilities Investigate and implement emerging technologies for intelligent digital manufacturing transformation. Research opportunities for automation within existing and proposed manufacturing processes. Identify and implement visionary strategies and novel approaches to problem solving. Manage external resources to implement technologies including SCADA, Digital Twin & XR. Define and develop Digital Twin models for existing and proposed facility projects. Conduct data modeling and algorithm development built on machine learning & AI. Develop standardized HMIs across the manufacturing enterprise. Design, modify and troubleshoot PLC / SCADA hardware & logic. Interpret specifications and scope documentation from OEMs and integrators. Generate and present detailed illustrated reports and presentations. Provide direction to controls & industrial engineers, production staff and student co-ops as needed. Qualifications BS or MS in Industrial Engineering, Industrial Technology, or Electrical Engineering required. 5 years minimum experience in factory automation and/or controls engineering. Proficient experience in implementing control methodology in PLC & HMI platforms with a high level of understanding of related programming languages. Desired Skills Experience with XR, machine learning, artificial intelligence and predictive analytics. Proficient understanding of PLC controls, sensors, and HMIs. Ability to optimize designs and implement knowledge of control system architecture including hardware, software, instrumentation and networking equipment. Experience with CAD platforms, including AutoCAD and PTC Creo. Experience with Aegis FactoryLogix MES and Inductive Automation's Ignition SCADA. Familiarity with IIoT and networking communication standards. Proactive problem-solving attitude and influencing skills. Able to work collaboratively with a range of departments and external resources.
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
Mechanical Engineering, Electrical EngineeringEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
